Job summary

Altorfer Inc in Addison, IL is seeking a Union Power Field Service Technician to join our expanding service team. You will troubleshoot and repair power systems, operate a field service truck, and support customers at client sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in electric power generator maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining efficiency and neatness.
• Good decision-making skills and the ability to follow directions.
• Represent Altorfer's professional image with effective communication and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to write technical reports and use reference resources as needed.
• Proficiency with Office software, preferably MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair power systems; complete service reports, PM checklists, and timecards per guidelines.
• Use SIS, ET, parts, and service manuals to perform service tasks.
• Take ownership of jobs; segment tasks and order parts for seamless execution.
• Communicate job status effectively to clients and office personnel.
• Conduct visual inspections and testing of Cat and non-Cat engine and generator sets; note deficiencies as part of preventive maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and testing on engines and generator sets for reliability.
