Job summary

Altorfer Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair of electric power generation and industrial equipment at customer sites.

You will work with electrical switchgear and controls, inspect service options, and coordinate with field dispatch while developing skills for potential Data Center maintenance opportunities in a dynamic customer-facing role.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical repair experience required or preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting.
• Must be a self-starter with good time management, planning, organization, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Electric Power Generation equipment and engines preferred but not required.
• Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must lift 75–100 lbs.
• Willingness to work varying schedules and hours.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no more than 2 minor violations in 3 years, no major violations in 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs to electric power generation and industrial equipment at customer sites.
• Paralleling switchgear and electrical controls as part of service.
• Inspect and recommend service repair options.
• Communicate between customer and field dispatch.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Potential transition into a Data Center maintenance and support role.
