Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for a mid-sized construction company in New York City to oversee full-cycle union payroll operations, with a strong focus on job costing and certified payroll compliance.

Key duties include administering union payroll for 60+ employees, processing remittances and prevailing wage reports, managing workers' comp claims and payroll audits, and ensuring NYS payroll tax compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll and job cost experience.
• Strong knowledge of union payroll and certified payroll.
• Construction payroll compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer full-cycle union payroll for 60+ employees and reconcile remittances.
• Process certified payrolls and prevailing wage reports.
• Manage workers' compensation claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC).
• Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations.
• Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and correct discrepancies in Sage 300.
• Generate and format Excel payroll reports and data analyses.
• Support payroll system transitions; ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus.
• Assist with garnishments, benefit remittances, and payroll compliance with leadership.
