Job summary

Join CFS in Campbell, CA as a Union Payroll Specialist to manage weekly payroll for union and non-union staff. You will interpret union agreements and wage rates, ensure accurate calculations of wages, deductions, overtime, and fringe benefits, and handle certified payroll obligations.

Collaborate with HR, accounting, and field operations to maintain payroll accuracy, prepare reports, and support year-end processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
  • Union payroll experience is highly required.
  • Construction, mechanical, or other skilled-trades industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with certified payroll and/or prevailing wage requirements is a must.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, deductions, overtime, and fringe benefits.
  • Experience with payroll/ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely weekly payroll for union and non-union employees.
  • Certified payroll processing.
  • Interpret and apply multiple union agreements, wage rates, and benefit requirements.
  • Ensure proper calculation of wages, deductions, overtime, and fringe benefits.
  • Prepare and submit union reports and benefit payments.
  • Handle certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements as applicable.
  • Reconcile payroll and related general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Work closely with HR, accounting, and field operations to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and year-end processes.
  • Stay current on changes to union agreements, wage rates, and applicable payroll regulations.
