Job summary

Gerken Paving, Inc. is hiring a Paving Foreman to lead paving crews in the field, coordinate daily operations, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

This is a full-time, seasonal leadership position responsible for delivering quality work, developing team members, and setting the standard for safety and performance on every job site. Union membership is required for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of road construction and paving experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and safety awareness are essential.
• Ability to train, mentor, and develop crew members.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and support paving crews in daily operations
• Plan and coordinate paving activities to meet project schedules and production goals
• Assign work responsibilities and manage crew workflow
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
• Coordinate materials, equipment, trucking, and job site logistics
• Ensure pavement quality and compliance with project specifications
• Conduct job site safety inspections and enforce safety procedures
• Maintain daily production, timekeeping, and job costing records
• Communicate project progress, concerns, and resource needs to management
• Work closely with milling crews and other teams to ensure successful project execution
