Job summary

Lee Hecht Harrison Nederland B.V. is seeking an Union HR Generalist / Labor Relations Specialist to partner with operations and represented employees in a growing organization. You will handle employee and labor relations, investigations, compliance, and engagement initiatives.

The role requires experience in a unionized setting, strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, and the ability to influence decisions while maintaining confidentiality and policy consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of HR experience within a unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law.
• Experience conducting employee relations investigations and managing disciplinary processes.
• Proven ability to partner with operational leadership and influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business units and represented employees.
• Partner with operations leaders to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and workforce planning.
• Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements, ensuring consistent application of contract language and company policies.
• Manage grievance processes, including investigations, documentation, resolution recommendations, and participation in grievance meetings.
• Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, attendance concerns, and disciplinary matters.
• Build productive relationships with union representatives and collaborate to resolve employee and labor-related issues.
• Support labor negotiations and preparation for collective bargaining activities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives.
• Analyze employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve engagement, productivity, and workplace culture.
• Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
