Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Union HR Generalist / Labor Relations Specialist to partner with operations leadership and union representatives in a represented workforce. You'll support employee relations, investigations, compliance, and workforce engagement initiatives in a unionized environment.

The role requires experience with collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law, and offers an opportunity to influence workplace culture and labor strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience within a unionized manufacturing, distribution, construction, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law.
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations and managing disciplinary processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business units and represented employees.
  • Partner with operations leaders to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and workforce planning.
  • Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements, ensuring consistent application of contract language and company policies.
  • Manage grievance processes, including investigations, documentation, resolution recommendations, and participation in grievance meetings.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, attendance concerns, and disciplinary matters.
  • Build productive relationships with union representatives and collaborate to resolve employee and labor-related issues.
  • Support labor negotiations and preparation for collective bargaining activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve engagement, productivity, and workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

This position will serve as a key business partner to operations leadership, employees, and union representatives, supporting employee relations, labor relations, investigations, compliance, and workforce engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a unionized environment and possess a strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law.

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.

Salary:

$75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
