Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Union Helper to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service, Test, and Inspect Fire Alarm Systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair.
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to customers including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders efficiently.
• Inform dispatcher or manager of the status of service to take appropriate action.
• Perform fire alarm inspections.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Trade School graduate.
• 3 years of direct fire alarm industry work experience across multiple fire alarm system manufacturers.
• Clear background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Edwards Systems certifications preferred.
• New York City – Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspections, Testing, and Service (S‑98).
• NYC DOB SST Card.

Salary: $17 to $32 an hour depending on years of experience.
