Job summary

Pavion is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. You will inspect, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, read and interpret drawings, and ensure documentation meets NFPA72 and local codes.

You will communicate clearly with customers on-site and maintain thorough inspection records. The role requires MA licenses, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety policies and schedules.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience performing fire alarm inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm drawings and specifications.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver License and MA D/S licenses may be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide the inspection and testing of fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection report documentation, including deficiency repair recommendations
  • Communicate with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
  • Interact professionally with customers
  • Follow and maintain structured inspection schedules
  • Communicate inspection status, changes or problems to supervisor or manager
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years’ experience performing fire alarm inspections, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver license
  • Massachusetts Systems Technician D License required
  • Massachusetts S License
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, applicable fire codes, and inspection requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm system drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily inspection schedules
  • Proficiency with mobile devices, inspection software, and report generation

Salary: $37.87 - $55.00 an hour depending on experience
