Job summary

S.E.T., Inc. is a growing heavy civil contractor based in Ohio, seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to run excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, and other production equipment on highway and civil projects.

The role offers union scale wages per the applicable CBA with full fringe benefits including health, pension, and training funds. Occasional out-of-town work may be required as projects span Ohio and Western PA; CDL A is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years operating heavy equipment on heavy highway or civil projects.
• Ability to grade to tolerance and produce finished work with minimal rework.
• Strong understanding of trench safety, utility clearance, and work zone hazards.
• Mechanical aptitude and genuine care for the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned heavy equipment safely and productively on active roadway, bridge, and mass excavation projects.
• Read plans and cut sheets; follow grade and alignment using stakes, lasers, and GPS/3D controls.
• Perform pre-shift inspections, routine maintenance, and report defects.
• Communicate with spotters and ground crew using hand signals and radio procedures.
