Job summary

POWER Contracting, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to lead HR initiatives for the union workforce on field projects. You will ensure CBAs, labor laws, and company policies are applied consistently on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on site support, payroll and benefits alignment with union requirements, reporting, investigations, and workforce planning for critical roles such as foremen and GF.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years HR experience; unionized or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of CBAs, labor laws, and prevailing wage requirements.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to local job sites.
• SHRM/PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret CBAs and guide leadership on contractual obligations.
• Ensure union agreements compliance in payroll, benefits, and work conditions.
• Prepare and submit monthly union reports.
• Audit annual union pay raises per CBAs.
• Act as liaison between leadership and union representatives.
• Mediate disputes and resolve grievances.
• Site visits to engage employees and leadership.
• Address HR issues at sites, including payroll discrepancies and compliance.
• Support OSHA alignment and union safety standards.
• Manage I-9, orientations, and driver applications.
• Schedule drug screens and communicate reporting.
• Verify timesheets and approve PARs.
• Assist with performance management and development programs.
• Forecast and plan workforce for union projects.
