Job summary

ABCOM is seeking an apprentice installer to support the JATC Apprenticeship Program under IBEW Local unions. You will participate in fiber, voice, data, and security infrastructure deployments while gaining hands-on experience and attending MN-based classes.

You will document work, map networks, and communicate with lead technicians, project managers, and supervisors. The role requires travel and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and driver's license.
• Must join IBEW or be accepted into MN JATC Apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of voice, video, data, and security infrastructure.
• 1.5–3 years industry experience.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Fiber optic installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Telecommunications entrance and facilities.
• Existing network mapping and documentation.
• Installation documentation, as-builts.
• Wireless installations.
• Daily paperwork and communications per Lead/Foreman/SUP/VPO/PM.
• Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Maintain certification status and currencies.
