Job summary

Advanced Electric Systems (AES), backed by Quanta Services, seeks motivated individuals to start a long‑term career as Apprentice Fiber Technicians. You will learn on‑the‑job, perform OPGW fiber splicing, installation, and testing on high‑voltage transmission infrastructure across North America, under the guidance of experienced technicians.

This traveling role requires regular travel, overnight stays as needed, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• No fiber experience required; training provided.
• Willingness to travel regularly for project locations.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors year‑round.

Responsibilities

• OPGW fiber installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Work with high‑voltage transmission lines.
• Reading fiber schematics and splicing diagrams.
• Maintain daily logs and project documentation.
