Job Description Summary

This position supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment on behalf of the client. The Engineer will perform routine operation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work orders on facility systems.
  2. Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building interior/exterior systems.
  3. Perform major repairs on HVAC and plumbing systems as needed.
  4. Perform electrical repairs and maintenance.
  5. Conduct inspections and report on conditions affecting client operations.
  6. Operate and maintain boilers, pumps, valves, refrigerant systems, and other related equipment.
  7. Maintain building automation systems and safety systems.
  8. Support emergency response and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  9. Maintain all required licenses and complete safety training.
  10. Perform general maintenance and handyman tasks as needed.
  11. Manage company vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and registration requirements.
  12. Perform maintenance in controlled environmental vaults if required.
  13. Other operational tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and building operations.
  • Interpersonal skills for dealing with tenants, clients, and vendors.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
Physical Work Requirements

Includes physical activity such as lifting, climbing, standing for long periods, and working in various environmental conditions. May require PPE and travel between sites.

Scheduling

Typically business hours, with potential for after-hours, emergency, or shift work, including overtime and on-call duties.
