Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Unified Communication Senior Principal Engineer Lead to advance UC capabilities for DISA GVS. The role blends remote (20%) and onsite (80%) work at Fort Meade, MD, delivering secure, scalable UC services for mission-critical environments.

You will lead a skilled engineering team, drive modernization from legacy Cisco/Poly systems to cloud-enabled UC platforms, and ensure reliability, security, and performance across voice and video services.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of related experience (or 14 years).
• 3+ years UC networking experience in real-time communications.
• Hands-on with Cisco VCS/Expressway and Poly/Cisco endpoints.
• Experience with Pexip, Azure, and O365 integration.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and set technical direction.
• Maintain lab environment and baselining to production.
• Migrate from legacy video to modern UC platforms (cloud-ready).
• Provide Tier III troubleshooting across UC video infrastructure.
• Develop capacity plans and performance checks.
• Ensure designs comply with government directives and security.
• Design for cloud deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Interact with customers to gather requirements and propose solutions.
