Qualifications

• Four years of unemployment insurance benefits experience.
• Two years of experience determining program eligibility.
• Two years of experience filing civil actions for debt collection.
• One year experience processing and rendering benefit overpayment determinations.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, reviews unemployment insurance fraudulent and non-fraudulent claimant overpayment cases for collection by department staff.
• Gathers pertinent documents and evidence to support case(s).
• Analyzes findings and determines sufficiency of evidence to support prosecution or action.
• Assists in preparing cases for collection, criminal prosecution, or civil action.
• Testifies as necessary in administrative hearings or court proceedings.
• Negotiates and monitors repayment agreements with non-fraudulent claimants; pursues court action on default.
