Job summary

An established London Market insurer is looking for an Operational Excellence Lead to improve its underwriting processes, systems and operating model.

Working closely with senior underwriters, technology and change teams, you will lead initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, scalability and automation across the underwriting journey.

You will translate strategic goals into actionable improvements, produce business cases, and align cross-team roadmaps with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience improving underwriting systems, processes or operating models.
• Exposure to automation or straight-through processing.
• Ability to influence senior underwriters and bridge business and technology teams.
• Strong analytical, process-mapping and business-case development skills.
• Experience leading multiple projects and workstreams.
• Knowledge of the London Market and underwriting lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting transformation and straight-through-processing projects.
• Review end-to-end underwriting processes and identify opportunities for simplification and automation.
• Act as Product Owner for underwriting systems and processes.
• Develop and improve underwriting target operating models.
• Promote consistent ways of working across underwriting teams.
• Produce process maps, business cases and improvement plans.
• Assess emerging insurance technologies and market developments.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and influence product roadmaps.
• Present recommendations and progress to senior stakeholders and committees.
