Job summary

CRC Group in Guin, Alabama seeks an experienced Team Underwriter to balance individual responsibility with team leadership. You will underwrite new and renewal business, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to underwriting standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with producers and internal teams, monitoring portfolio performance, and mentoring junior underwriters to maintain high-quality risk selection and consistent execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant insurance designation preferred.
• Experience in underwriting, including multi-line or specialty products.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage complex accounts.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business, including evaluating risk, terms, and delegated decisions.
• Manage underwriting workflow through submissions, binding, servicing and documentation.
• Monitor production metrics to support portfolio quality and predictability.
• Review and resolve underwriting issues, including inspections and coverage changes.
• Collaborate with producers, agents and internal teams to ensure timely decisions.
• Provide leadership and coordination across underwriting teams.
• Mentor and develop less experienced underwriters through guidance.
