Job summary
AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the life insurance underwriting and servicing teams. You will gather requirements, review for completeness, and submit to carriers and lenders while tracking exams and APS requests.
Proficiency with data entry and Microsoft Office is required. The role involves preparing application materials, drafting cover letters, and maintaining underwriting files.
Qualifications
- Life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
- Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
- Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
- Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
- Monitor each case throughout underwriting and escalate issues when needed.
- Work with carriers to issue policies and download application kits.
- Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
- Assist clients with routine service requests and annual policy reviews.
- Maintain organized underwriting files and enter case information in Salesforce and Chatter.
