AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and servicing them. You will gather requirements, review for completeness, and submit to carriers and lenders, while supporting annual renewals and premium funding processes.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, document preparation, and effective communication with underwriters, brokers, and clients. Strong organization and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Life insurance experience supporting case managers or medical underwriters in the policy life cycle.
• Ability to process work accurately while meeting productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
• Ability to manage workflows and follow departmental processes, procedures, and service standards.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Ability to maintain complete underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence related to applications, policies, and endorsements.
• Ability to communicate with underwriters and brokers to obtain required documentation.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.

Responsabilités

• Order exams and APS as needed and track requests until completion.
• Update Salesforce Chatter and organize records in underwriting file.
• Create AI-assisted summaries for underwriting files per confidentiality rules.
• Support Case Manager with carrier applications and follow-up.
• Monitor cases and escalate issues to Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies and prepare delivery requirements for DocuSign.
• Draft cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
