Job summary

Markel is seeking a production underwriter in Alpharetta, GA to support day-to-day client servicing and handle less complex renewal business while developing into new business. You will gather financial data, assess risk, interpret coverage, and maintain accurate documentation while building strong client and internal relationships.

US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not provided. Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1+ year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage renewal business under supervision and progress to writing new business.
• Gather and review information on financial conditions, risk exposure, loss history, and trends that may impact terms.
• Extract internal data and research external information to identify trends affecting product line.
• Provide basic forms/coverage interpretations and advise on additional coverage needs.
• Ensure accuracy of underwriting documentation and adherence to standards.
• Establish, support, and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues across the organization.
