Job summary

Markel Group is seeking an Associate Underwriter to support endorsement requests, renewal reviews, and policy maintenance. You will collaborate with underwriters, agents, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, documentation, and timely issuance of policies.

Key tasks include processing endorsements, reviewing renewals, applying guidelines, and maintaining underwriting files with clear rationale. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and underwriting systems is expected.

• Good written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and process endorsement requests, including policy changes and coverage updates.
• Evaluate renewal accounts for completeness and underwriting acceptability.
• Maintain accurate underwriting files and supporting rationale.
• Coordinate with agents, brokers, and internal teams to obtain missing information.
• Assist underwriters with account maintenance, renewal prep, and timely policy issuance.
• Escalate complex risks to appropriate underwriter or manager.
• Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
