Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, is seeking an Underwriting Technician to support designated Underwriters and their agencies in the end-to-end underwriting process. This role focuses on submission quality, data accuracy, and timely policy processing to keep workflows efficient and auditable.

You will enter data, prepare preliminary materials, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and help improve processes while ensuring high-quality,

Qualifications

• Education and experience in insurance, preferably workers' compensation.
• Ability to read, interpret underwriting files, and write concise reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business software; able to learn vendor systems.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions for completeness and accuracy; request missing information.
• Enter data in underwriting and policy systems accurately.
• Prepare preliminary underwriting materials to support evaluation.
• Coordinate policy issuance and set diary reminders for timely processing.
• Support workflow improvements and assist with audits and training.
