Job summary

Zurich North America is offering an Underwriting Internship for Summer 2027. You will learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship, support financial reporting, and help prepare reports using underwriting and BI tools.

You’ll participate in client and broker meetings and gain exposure to risk management in a global commercial insurer. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, or related fields, with 2+ years of college coursework and eligibility to work

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• Two or more years of college coursework; rising Junior or Senior.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship and hands-on training.
• Support business unit reporting and analysis.
• Assist with preparing financial and operational reports using underwriting tools.
• Support pipeline management and underwriting operations activities.

The Role:

As an Underwriting Intern at Zurich, you will be an integral part of our Underwriting organization. Under the guidance of experienced underwriting professionals and mentors, you will contribute to real projects and tasks that support business growth, customer relationships, and risk management strategies.

• Learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship and hands‑on training


• Support business unit financial reporting and analysis


• Assist with preparing financial and operational reports using underwriting and business intelligence tools


• Support pipeline management and underwriting operations activities


• Participate in client, broker, and stakeholder meetings


• Review loss summaries and assist with account analysis


• Gain exposure to customer, broker, and partner relationships within the insurance industry

Basic Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree inRisk Management, Finance, Economics, Businessor related field


• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and will be enrolled in the Fall of 2027


• Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)


• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cumulative GPA at/above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale


• Problem solving skills in customer focused environment


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Analytical and critical thinking abilities


• Experience in leadership roles, campus organizations, or extracurricular activities

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply - your unique background matters to us.

The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. For this position, the houlry range is $21.00 - $23.00.
