Job summary

AIG’s Summer Intern in the Underwriting - Aviation department offers hands-on experience in a fast-moving global insurer. You will work with leaders on dynamic projects, gaining insurance industry knowledge during the 9-week program.

Interns join a key business team and participate in masterclasses, mentorship circles, networking events, and volunteering, with potential consideration for a future Analyst role starting July 2028.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate professionally.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the evaluation and underwriting of aviation risks across operators, airports, manufacturers, and airlines.
• Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, loss history, and other data to support risk decisions.
• Partner with underwriters, claims professionals, attorneys, and risk specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewal opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging aviation risks to support informed underwriting decisions.
• Develop technical knowledge of aviation insurance and strengthen analytical and relationship-management skills.
