Job summary

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America is launching an Underwriting Career Path Trainee Program designed for graduates and early-career professionals. Beginning in June 2027, the immersive program provides hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience in underwriting, agency relationships, and risk evaluation.

You will learn to assess risk, develop pricing, and support agents while preparing for a targeted underwriting role in workers' compensation and commercial insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required; or Associate degree with ARM, CPCU or AU certification.
• Continuous learning required, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy.
• Certification, or progress toward, highly preferred and encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop underwriting competencies.
• Research and analyze information in underwriting.
• Develop premium quotations under guidelines.
• Support agency relationships and new business growth.
• Prepare reports and attend meetings; provide feedback to supervisors.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve problems and maintain relations.
• Participate on special committees and task forces.
