The Amwins Underwriting LAUNCH Program offers a structured 9-week education and training track designed to build knowledge of the insurance industry, underwriting practices, and the Amwins organization. Participants will gain leadership and professional skills through case studies, systems training, and networking with Amwins leadership.

Graduates will move into an entry-level underwriting support role with Business Risk Partners in Windsor, CT, with housing provided during training in

Qualifications

• RMI/Finance degree preferred early in career (less than 2 years of experience).
• Interest and passion for insurance and underwriting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify applications, supplemental documentation, and subjectivities for completeness and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Prequalification for most risks.
• Assist in binding, issuing policies, endorsements, mid-term change requests, prepare and deliver policy documents.
• Maintain accurate electronic files and ensure all risk data is properly entered into underwriting systems for auditing purposes.
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and carriers to gather missing information and clarify underwriting requirements.
• Support underwriters with administrative tasks.
• Understands what underwriting material is required to quote the risk, can identify missing information; including reviewing and verifying data regarding claims, loss runs.
• Files documentation for underwriters.
• Prepares audit files for annual carrier audits.
