DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting department in San Diego. The role focuses on data processing, file setup, and timely policy processing while maintaining compliance and client service standards.

The position is hybrid in San Diego, with salary of $24.00 - $32.00 per hour. A bachelor’s degree in a business field and strong communication skills are preferred. 0-10% travel and entry-level underwriter support duties are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of Insurance terminology.
• Typing proficiency at least 35 wpm; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for customer inquiries during the account life cycle.
• Set up electronic files and filing; prequalify risks per underwriting guidelines.
• Generate, edit and send correspondence for Underwriters (declinations, quotes, reminders).
• Review policies within authority; approve tasks as appropriate.
• Coordinate inspections and follow up on carrier subjectivities.
• Assist with notices, endorsements, and cancellations per guidelines.
