Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to support the Underwriting department in a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA or Chicago, IL. The position focuses on data entry, reporting, and administrative support to ensure policy accuracy and drive efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years in an office setting, insurance terminology knowledge, and strong MS Office skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant office experience.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.
• Basic math skills for determining premiums and commissions.
• Solid understanding of Insurance terminology.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently for extended periods.
• Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains step-by-step documentation of back-office and underwriting processes.
• Assists in training new underwriting teams in use of the system.
• Coordinates business process outsourcing (BPO) tasks.
• Assists onboarding of new teams, programs, projects.
• Sends underwriting correspondences (notices, documentation, reports, mailings) as directed.
• Collaborates with other divisions within DUAL NA on projects as assigned.
• Assists other areas of operations with shared services.
• Supports run-off programs as directed.
• Performs other clerical duties, office support, and short-term projects as needed.
