Job summary

DUAL North America is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting department in a hybrid San Diego, CA environment. You will assist underwriters with data entry, document gathering, and workflow management to ensure timely policy processing.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office. Travel is minimal, and the team emphasizes efficiency, accuracy, and client service excellence.

Qualifications

• Typing proficiency (35 wpm minimum).
• Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication.
• Working knowledge of Insurance terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries during the account life cycle.
• Set up electronic files and prequalify risks per underwriting guidelines.
• Prepare and send declination letters, quotes, and reminders on behalf of underwriters.
