Job summary

DUAL North America is seeking an Operations Specialist- Property to support the Underwriting team with data entry, reporting, and admin tasks in a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA or Chicago, IL.

The position requires 3–5 years in an office setting, insurance knowledge, and proficiency with agency management systems and MS Office. Travel is 0–10%, and accurate policy administration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in an office environment.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.
• Basic math skills for determining premium amounts, commissions, etc.
• Solid understanding of Insurance terminology.
• Proficiency in agency management system(s).
• Willingness to learn new software.
• Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple and varying assignments daily.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains step-by-step documentation of back-office and underwriting processes.
• Assists in training new underwriting teams in use of the system.
• Coordinates business process outsourcing (BPO) tasks.
• Assists onboarding of new teams, programs, projects.
• Sends underwriting correspondences (insurance notices, underwriting documentation, reports, mailings) as directed.
• Collaborates with other divisions within DUAL NA on projects as assigned.
• Assists other areas of the operations with shared services.
• Supports run-off programs as directed.
• Performs other clerical duties, office support, and short-term projects as needed.
