Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, review, and analyze underwriting data such as loss runs, financial statements, vessel inventories, marina layouts, and contractor experience profiles.
  • Serve as a contact for brokers and agents for servicing of accounts.
  • Exercise discretion in structuring tailored coverage solutions, selecting appropriate endorsements, and developing pricing recommendations based on independent evaluation of risk characteristics and exposures.
  • Prepare billing and issue policies, endorsements, and correspondence, applying independent judgment to ensure accuracy of terms, conditions, and coverage language relative to the bound risk.
  • Maintain accurate records in underwriting and policy administration systems, ensuring data integrity for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Contribute subject‑matter expertise and independent analysis to projects aimed at improving marine underwriting workflows, automation tools, and service delivery; may lead discrete project workstreams at the direction of the CUO.

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to synthesize technical underwriting data.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal collaboration and broker interaction.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to exercise judgment with respect to matters of significance, including coverage determinations, risk evaluation, and broker communications, in a fast‑paced environment with limited direct supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with underwriting platforms or policy systems.
  • Insurance designations a plus but not required.
