Job summary

Amwins Underwriting is launching an intensive 9-week Underwriter L.A.U.N.C.H Program in Charlotte, NC, with housing provided during the training period. Afterward, participants relocate to Dallas, TX to join Amwins National Transportation Underwriters and support entry-level underwriting activities.

The program emphasizes insurance industry knowledge, underwriting practices, and professional skills with mentorship and leadership exposure. Travel is limited to an annual basis for training.

Qualifications

• RMI degree preferred early in career (less than 2 years of experience).
• Interest and passion for insurance and underwriting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit.
• Highly motivated and proactive.
• Located in listed area; able to work in office.

Responsibilities

• Set up submission information for new and renewal business in agency management and rating systems.
• Request and follow through on missing information from retail partners and outside sources.
• Rate new and renewal business across multiple carrier platforms and internal tools.
• Contact carriers by phone and email to market risk submissions and identify best placement.
• Quote accounts with retail clients, collaborating with underwriting on terms.
• Build relationships with retail and carrier partners through regular communication.
• Maintain account logs and monitor reports to move outstanding items.
• Complete bind forms, issue policy numbers, and review bound account information.
• Handle policy issuance and endorsement processing.
• QA policies, proposals, and binding acknowledgements.
• Order loss control per company guidelines; review reports and take action.
• Assist with accounting procedures such as invoicing.
