Job summary

AIG is seeking an Underwriter II for Financial Institutions, Financial Lines in New York. The role underwrites products under supervision, issues quotes and policies, and ensures compliance while interacting with clients and brokers.

You will evaluate submissions, identify risk exposures, quantify losses, and help set terms to balance profitability with client needs. Collaboration with senior underwriters is expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of underwriting or relevant professional experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites Financial Lines products under general supervision, issuing quotes and policies while ensuring standards and compliance.
• Evaluates, prioritizes and selects submissions to be underwritten.
• Identifies risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience and appropriate controls.
• Captures market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts.
• Sells and negotiates to achieve profitability for the Company.
