Under direct supervision, you will underwrite individual insurance applications to cover property and casualty, following guidelines for issuing policies on a standard or substandard basis. You will evaluate risks based on property value, location, usage, safety features, and other relevant information to decide whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk. You will frequently contact field teams to gather information supporting underwriting decisions. This role does not have assigned production or service goals. You will collaborate with underwriting teams to learn service and operational procedures.
Required: Bachelor's degree; no prior experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
Preferred: Detail-oriented; strong analytical skills; good communication and interpersonal skills.
