Job summary

STR's Sensors Division seeks a Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing, fabricating, integrating, and testing subsystems for unmanned undersea platforms and payloads. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to realize challenging engineering solutions for hostile marine environments.

Responsibilities span design, simulation, fabrication, assembly, and at-sea validation, with regular communication to leadership and customers. This role requires a Top Secret clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Top Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship needed.
  • BS with 2+ years of relevant experience or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience in design, modeling, fabrication, integration, and validation of mechanical systems for undersea sensor payloads and vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions for mechanical deployable payloads and vehicles in harsh maritime environments.
  • Collaborate in all stages of undersea systems testing, including test plans and infrastructure.
  • Provide regular communication with leadership and teammates for reports and customer reviews.
