Job summary

STR seeks an Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in undersea robotics to design and implement electrical systems for next-generation uncrewed undersea vehicles and sensor payloads. You’ll work from board-level design through bring-up, test, and field support, collaborating with mechanical, software, and systems engineers.

Ideal candidates have practical electronics exposure, familiarity with analog/digital circuits, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware issues.

Qualifications

• Design and test analog/digital circuits for undersea vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document analog and digital circuitry for uncrewed undersea vehicles, including power distribution, signal conditioning, communications interfaces, and sensor integration.
• Develop and lay out PCBs, including component selection, schematic capture, layout, and fabrication/assembly packages.
• Bring up new boards and modules: bench testing, debugging, and iteration based on test results and field feedback.
• Interface sensors with vehicle processors and control systems; define hardware-software interfaces with embedded teams.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing in lab, pool, and at-sea environments.
