R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking an Underpayments Analyst to validate and review hospital accounts with potential additional revenue opportunities.

You will confirm claim reimbursement, identify variables impacting payment, diagnose root causes, and collaborate with support teams to improve outcomes. Ideal candidates enjoy working with data and researching payment issues, with strong math, communication, and detail-orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a High School diploma with 2+ years’ experience in hospital billing, resolution, revenue cycle, or data analytics
• Organized and analytical self-starter with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
• Strong communicator – verbal and written communication to document work completed
• Strong math skills with emphasis on complex equations
• Proficient with computers and technology
• Multiple 1-week onsite company-paid training in R1 office

Responsibilities

• Validate and research accounts within the client’s Patient Accounting system, payer portals, and R1’s proprietary software
• Review opportunities, evaluate reimbursement calculation, decide if pursuing with payer and required actions
• Document accounts to support appeal and resolution efforts
• Diagnose root causes of underpayments and preventive measures for clients
• Meet production, accuracy, and efficiency benchmarks
