Job summary

GridHawk LLC seeks a Locate Technician to locate underground utilities across roadways, residential, commercial and rural areas, using transmitters and maps. You will work independently or in a team, reporting to a supervisor.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, the ability to read prints, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a DOT drug test. Applicants should be prepared for 10-hour shifts, on-call duties, and varied weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State issued driver's license required.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
• Vacuum truck experience preferred.
• Ability to lift over 50lbs.
• Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours daily.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Pass a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Locates underground facilities using a transmitter and connects to buried facilities.
• Works across varied terrains and weather conditions in construction zones.
• Interprets job orders, blueprints, and maps to route and perform duties.
• Performs locates during regular, overtime and holiday hours as needed.
• Communicates with customers, co-employees and third parties to ensure safety.
• Coordinates with management, contractor and utility customers to avoid damage.
• Maintains knowledge of technology and tools needed.
• Able to work in a supervised team environment.
