Job summary

GridHawk is seeking a Locate Technician to accurately identify and mark underground facilities such as telephone, electric, cable, gas, fiber, water and sewer lines. You will use transmitters, maps and prints to locate assets and verify locations, working independently or with a team under supervision.

Candidates must pass a DOT drug test and will receive a company vehicle, laptop, smartphone and PPE. The role covers fieldwork across varied terrains and weather, with emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• Must be able to solve problems encountered in locating utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, maps and blueprints.
• Excellent communication with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
• Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments.
• Ability to walk/stand for extended periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground facilities using transmitters and connection to buried assets.
• Work in various terrains and weather conditions in residential, commercial, industrial areas.
• Interpret job orders, blueprints and maps to plan routes and perform duties.
• Perform locates during regular, overtime and holiday hours to meet customer needs.
• Communicate clearly with management, customers and third parties to maintain a safe environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of required technology and tools for locating.
• Collaborate with team members in a supervised setting.
