Job summary

USIC is seeking outdoor-focused technicians to locate underground utilities using company-provided vehicles. This full-time role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and independence in the field, with a strong training program and growth opportunities.

You will locate utilities across telecom, electric, gas, water, and sewer networks, document findings, and collaborate with site owners and contractors. Entry-level is welcome with paid training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities safely and efficiently in designated areas.
• Thoroughly search for utilities, mark locations, complete documentation, and photograph each locate.
