Star Construction LLC in Alabama is seeking a Locator to mark underground utilities with flags and paint, ensuring project safety and efficiency.

You will operate detection equipment, read maps, document locates, and coordinate with excavators and staff. Overtime, travel, and after-hours responsibilities are included as needed to meet project timelines. This role supports a safety-first culture and requires effective communication in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for Star Construction LLC.
• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate detection equipment to locate and mark underground utilities.
• Read utility maps to locate utilities correctly.
• Document all locates.
• Respond promptly to excavation notices.
• Communicate with excavators, utility representatives, and company staff.
• Dig lightly with a shovel when necessary.
• Work overtime, travel, and be on-call/afterhours as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
