Job summary

WSB and Associates is seeking a Field-Driven Untoneables Locating Technician to support utility locating operations in the Houston area. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and field independence as you locate, troubleshoot, document, and mark underground utilities across multiple sites.

You will read maps, use electronic locating equipment, and collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve locate challenges while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-4+ years utility locating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PE and Steel Gas lines preferred.
• Ability to pass Operator Qualification modules and training.
• Knowledge of 811 processes and utility marking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities with safety and accuracy.
• Read maps and plans to identify utility size, type, and location.
• Operate locating equipment and field tools in outdoor conditions.
• Document findings and maintain records electronically.
• Coordinate with clients and teams to resolve locate challenges.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and company requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and daily reporting.
