Job summary

WSB and Associates is seeking an Untoneables Locating Technician to support utility locating operations in the field. This role focuses on locating and marking underground utilities, including gas and electric facilities, with safety and precision in challenging conditions. The position requires reading maps, operating locating equipment, and documenting findings daily.

You will work independently across multiple sites, participate in safety meetings, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–4+ years of utility locating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Polyethylene and Steel Gas lines.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and plans.
• Proficient with locating equipment and field data collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform utility locating with emphasis on safety, accuracy and compliance.
• Locate and mark underground utilities following APWA color standards.
• Read utility maps, prints, and as-built records to identify location.
• Operate electronic locating equipment and field tools in the field.
• Document findings and complete daily field reports and photos.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve locate challenges and ensure compliance.
