Job summary

GridHawk LLC seeks a Locate Technician to accurately identify and mark underground utilities, ensuring compliance with client and state requirements. You will use multiple locating methods, work on various terrains, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read prints. DOT drug testing is mandatory; on‑the‑road work with a company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State issued driver's license.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher prints.
• Vacuum truck experience A+.
• Able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Walk/stand for multiple hours daily.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Read and interpret prints at a high level.
• Pass a Background screening (no violations in 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Locates underground facilities using a transmitter and connects to buried facilities.
• Work on varied terrain and weather in construction zones and other areas.
• Interpret job orders, blueprints, and maps to route duties efficiently.
• Perform locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Communicate with customers and team to maintain a damage‑free environment.
• Apply knowledge of technology and tools required for locating.
• Collaborate with others in a supervised team.
