Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking a full-time Drop Bury Technician to perform outdoor utility locates, marking and burying fiber and coax lines at residential or commercial sites. You will use locating equipment, reference maps, and field records to identify underground facilities and ensure safe, compliant installations.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong safety adherence, and professional interaction with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy outdoor fieldwork.
• Strong communication with customers, teammates and supervisors.
• Ability to operate locating equipment and reference records/maps.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets as assigned.
• Reference records, maps, and prints to accurately locate and mark underground facilities.
• Use locating equipment and procedures to ensure accurate locates.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore cable lines (6–8 inches deep).
• Take photos and document locate/drop bury tickets for billing and customer compliance.
• Adhere to safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies.
