Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking an experienced Utility Laborer to support underground wet utility construction projects in Springdale, Arkansas.

The role focuses on trench work, installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems, and assisting crew leaders to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on trench experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a solid work ethic.

Qualifications

• Experience on underground wet utility crews in the ditch.
• Experience installing water, sewer, or storm drain systems.
• Ability to work safely around trenches and utilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with underground utility installations in trenches.
• Work safely around trenches and excavations.
• Load and unload materials, pipes, and fittings.
• Assist with pipe laying and backfill operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure project success.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices.
• Other duties as assigned
