Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking an experienced Utility Laborer to join our underground utility construction team in Missouri. This role focuses on installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems on heavy civil projects.

You will work in trenches, set pipe to grade, and safely install underground utilities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to follow directions while working

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction or related industry preferred.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sewer, and storm drainpipe in accordance with project specifications and grade requirements
• Assist with general construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, digging trenches, and operating hand and power tools
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices
• Other duties as assigned
