Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons is seeking an experienced Utility Laborer to join its underground utility construction team in the United States. The role involves installing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems on heavy civil projects.

The candidate should be comfortable working in trenches, setting pipe to grade, and safely installing underground utilities. You will assist with material handling, trenching, and operating tools while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in construction or related industry is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds in all weather conditions.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sewer, and storm drainpipe in accordance with project specifications and grade requirements.
• Assist with general construction tasks, including loading/unloading materials, digging trenches, and operating hand and power tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
