Job summary

Gregory Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a Utility Underground Groundman in Charleston, SC to support construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized underground electrical distribution systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school in electrical/utility work preferred.
• 0–2 years of field experience in underground utility or electrical construction (or equivalent).
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class A CDL license.
• OSHA 10/30 certifications and underground utility safety training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, work orders, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical distribution systems.
• Follow directions from supervisors and crew leads to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Load, unload, and organize materials; prepare electrical components for installation.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control and grounding systems, per safety standards.
• Participate in tailboard and safety meetings to review work plans and hazards.
